[For those that may not know] The Nashville Predators are a professional ice hockey team from the
National Hockey League (NHL) that are based out of Nashville, Tennessee (USA). They joined the NHL
as an expansion team for the 1998 season coached by Barry Trotz, whom is also still the current coach.

The Predators are now among the NHL's elite teams, the expansion club that has been long known as the underdogs to most of
competition around the NHL, has finally made their presence known in the new NHL.
They made a few major line up changes during this past season picking up some major free agents and
making some key trades. The team acquired veteran forward Jason Arnott (free agent) in July 2006,
prior to the start of the season and also made a significant trade to the Philadelphia Flyers for
five-time NHL all-star Peter Forsberg. Arnott was a significant addition to the team and tied
David Legwand for the most goals scored on the team (27 goals each).
The Predators were in first over all during the 2006/07 NHL season for most of the season and eventually
finished in third place with 110 points, a franchise record. The team continued with their post season
struggles as they were defeated by the San Jose Sharks in the Western conference quarter-finals for
the second year in a row.
This season is a different story, with Forsberg & Kariya no longer part of the team, the Predators are battling for the last playoff
spot in the Western Conference, only time will tell how things play out during the remainder of the season.
